💠 નાઇટ્રોજન નું કાર્ય (N) :
- વાનસ્પતિક વૃધ્ધિ
- એમિનો એસિડ, પ્રોટીન તથા ઉત્સેચકોના નિર્માણમાં મદદરૂપ થાય છે.
- હરિતકણનાનિર્માણ માટે
💠 નાઈટ્રોજનની ઉણપના ચિન્હો :
- નાઈટ્રોજન ની ઉણપવાળા છોડ શરૂમાં બટકાપણું બતાવશે.
-આછો ફીકાશ પડતો લીલો રંગ જોવા મળશે.
-ધીમે ધીમે છોડ પીળો પડવા માંડશે, ધાન્ય પાકોમાં ફૂટ ઓછી જોવા મળે.
-છોડના નિચેના પાન પીળા પડશે કારણ કે જુના પાંદડાનો નાઈટ્રોજન નાના પાંદડા લઈ લેછે.
-નીચેના પાંદડા ટોચથી પીળા પડવાની શરૂઆત થશે અને મધ્યનસની બાજુમાં વધવા માંડશે, ત્યારે પાંદડાની કીનારી લીલી રહેશે. આવા ચિન્હો ધાન્યપાકોના પાંદડા પર ખાસ કરીને મકાઈના પાંદડા પર જોવા મળશે, ઉણપ વધી જતાં પીળા પાંદડા ભુખરા બની સુકાઈ જાય.
💠 નિયંત્રણ :
- જમીન ચકાસણી રિપોર્ટ મુજબ જમીનાં નાઈટ્રોજનયુક્ત ખાતરો આપવા
-દા.ત. - યુરિયા, નેનો યુરિયા પ્રવાહી
-જમીનમાં સેન્દ્રીય ખાતરો આપવા.
- છોડ પર નેનો યુરિયાના દ્રાવણ નો છંટકાવ કરવો. પુર્તિ ખાતર તરીકે યુરિયા હપ્તે હપ્તે સાંજના સમયે પિયત આપ્યા પછી, વરાપ થયે આપવું.
-રાઈઝોબિયમ (કઠોળ વર્ગમાં) અને એઝેટોબેક્ટર (ધાન્ય વર્ગમાં) જેવા જૈવિક ખાતરો ની બીજ માવજત આપવી અથવા પિયત આપવું.

* Function of Nitrogen (N):
- Vegetative growth
- Helps in the formation of amino acids, proteins and enzymes
- For chlorophyll formation
* Signs of Nitrogen Deficiency:
- Nitrogen deficient plants will initially show blight.
- Lighter pale green color will be seen.
- Slowly the plants will start turning yellow, less feet are seen in cereal crops.
- The lower leaves of the plant will turn yellow as the nitrogen of the old leaf takes away the small leaves.
- When the lower leaves start to turn yellow from the top and start growing next to the midrib, the edge of the leaf will be green. Such signs can be seen on the leaves of cereals, especially corn, as the deficiency increases and the yellow leaves turn gray and dry out.
* Control:
- To give nitrogenous fertilizers to the soil as per the soil test report
- E.g. - Urea
- Give organic fertilizers to the soil.
- Spray nano urea solution on the plants. As a supplementary fertilizer, urea should be irrigated in installments in the evening.
- Treating or irrigating seeds of organic fertilizers like Rhizobium (in pulses) and Azetobacter (in cereals).
